USD 532M transmission project in Bangladesh receives $357M funding

Bangladesh: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved an assistance package of more than $357 million for a project that will develop two power transmission lines in support of Bangladesh’s national target of electricity for all by 2021.

 


Bangladesh: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved an assistance package of more than $357 million for a project that will develop two power transmission lines in support of Bangladesh’s national target of electricity for all by 2021.

The project will develop a 230 kV transmission line from Barisal to Faridpur, and a 400 kV line from Bogra to Rohanpur, along with substations, power transformers, and associated equipment, reports The Independent.

The government will contribute $174.5 million toward the total cost of the project, which is $532 million.

The project is due for completion by the end of June 2023.
