USD 851M Hinkley-Seabank transmission project approved

United Kingdom: The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) has approved the UK National Grid’s Hinkley-Seabank project, which is a power grid upgrade needed for connecting the 3.2 GW Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to the grid.

 


United Kingdom: The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) has approved the UK National Grid’s Hinkley-Seabank project, which is a power grid upgrade needed for connecting the 3.2 GW Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to the grid.

The Hinkley-Seabank project is a proposed $851 million transmission project which will ensure safe connection of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to the national grid, reports Compelo.

The nuclear plant is being planned to be built with an investment of $25.6 – $26.5 billion by EDF Energy in Somerset, England.
