Eskom recently resumed its rotational load shedding schedule, which affected the energy supply of many customers.

The parastatal announced that Stage 2 load shedding would resume due to a number of generating units tripping, causing a reduction in total supply.

Stage 2 requires for 2000 MW to be loadshed on rotation as the final avenue in an attempt to protect the power system from a total collapse or blackout.

The utility said: “We continue to appeal to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period. Please switch off geysers and all non-essential appliances to assist in reducing demand.”
