Jan Oberholzer appointed new EPRI Board member

South Africa: Eskom’s Chief Operating Officer, Jan Oberholzer, has been appointed onto the Board of Directors of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

 


South Africa: Eskom’s Chief Operating Officer, Jan Oberholzer, has been appointed onto the Board of Directors of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

EPRI conducts research and development related to the generation, delivery and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. EPRI’s international participation extends to more than 30 countries.

Jan Oberholzer has worked with Eskom for 27 of his 38 years in the industry, serving in various positions, such as leading the 18,000 MW generation and transmission capital programme expansion, successfully managing one of the largest electrification programmes in the world and serving as Chief Operating Officer of the utility’s Distribution Business. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Eskom Holdings since July 2018 and was responsible for Caretaking Group Executive Capital since January.

Oberholzer has also served as Country Director of Zambia at SN Power and as Managing Director of Mechanical, Electrical and Power at Stefanutti Stocks Holdings Limited.
