ABB has received a large order to provide inverter transformers and high voltage equipment for an 800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project.
ABB has received a large order to provide inverter transformers and high voltage equipment for an 800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project.
The project is carried out by the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), in the Shaanxi and Hubei provinces of the north and central parts of China.
The 117 km (110-mile) power transmission line will transport up to 8,000 MW of power, to supply the needs of about eight million people in China. The order was placed in the first and second quarters of 2019.
