$675 M substation project to electrify 2.5 m and create jobs

In Angola, the Belo Monte substation project led by Power Construction Corporation of China is expected to provide electricity to more than 2.5 million people.

 


Angola: In Angola, the Belo Monte substation project led by Power Construction Corporation of China is expected to provide electricity to 300,000 households and benefit more than 2.5 million people.

The project started in October 2016 with a contract period of 34 months and a contract value of some $675 M.

Li Xunfeng, chief representative of Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) in Angola, explained that the Belo Monte substation project in Luanda mainly includes the construction of nine substations and related supporting projects.

The project is expected to be completed in August this year, with all nine substations already in operation.
