Egypt: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) is preparing three tenders to establish 220 kV and 66 kV transformer stations in New Valley to supply future agriculture projects in the governorate with their power needs.

About $447 M (EGP 7.5 B) were allocated to complete transformer stations, lines, and cables of high and ultra-high voltages, in addition to replacing and renewing these lines. This plan is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

Additionally, the national network of transformer stations is being developed with investments of more than $4.7 B (EGP 80 B), in addition to other investments approved by the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and its subsidiaries.

These steps are part of the ministry of electricity’s efforts to consolidate and expand electrical networks in order to be able to absorb the added capacities.
