Drydocks World to build 700 MW HVAC transformer station for TenneT

Drydocks World has signed a contract with Petrofac and end-client TenneT to build a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transformer station topside.

 


Netherlands: UAE-based Drydocks World has signed a contract with Petrofac and end-client TenneT to build a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transformer station topside, which will be part of a windfarm in the Netherlands sector of the North Sea.

Named Hollandse Kust Zuid Alpha, the HVAC platform will be part of the windfarm, which is located in the Hollandse Kust Zuid grid connection.

It will have a connection capacity of 700 MW, with completion expected in 2021.

Drydocks World will be responsible for the production engineering, construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and will also provide commissioning assistance for the project.

Its work scope also includes load-out, sea fastening and HVAC engineering procurement construction (EPC) commissioning for the Topside.
