$120 M transmission line project in Afghanistan

Afghanistan: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 500 kV power transmission line.

 


Afghanistan: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 500 kV power transmission line.

Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to the president of Afghanistan, met with Lie Zhang, the Senior Energy Specialist at the Asian Development Bank and Amanullah Ghalib, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshan Sherkat to sign the transmission line contract.

The project cost is $120 M of which $110 M will be financed by a grant from ADB special fund resources and the 10 M remaining will be financed by Afghan Government. The project is expected to be finished within the next 2 years.
