Argentina: The Argentinian government unveiled several new projects to boost the country's transmission capacity.
Argentina: The Argentinian government unveiled several new projects to boost the country’s transmission capacity.
They involve building approximately 1,147 km of transmission lines, a new substation and expanding five substations, among other works.
The first of the projects consists of several 500 kV lines starting from the small town of Plomer on the outskirts of capital Buenos Aires. The longest, spanning 358 km, will connect Plomer with Vivoratá to the southeast, a town close to the coastal city of Mar del Plata.
A 220 kV line will connect Plomer with the Zappalorto substation, spanning 30 km, while a 4.4 km bypass will be built close to the Ezeiza substation.
Another 500 kV line will begin in the northern town of Rodeo, in San Juan province, and run east 335 km towards La Rioja, in neighboring La Rioja province.
The projects involve building a new substation at Plomer, while expanding five substations: Vivoratá, Choele Choel, Puerto Madryn, La Rioja Sur and Nueva San Juan. Four additional substations (General Rodríguez, Manuel Belgrano, Henderson and 25 de Mayo) will also be expanded.
