All but five of the outages were restored. Data from First Energy’s 24/7 Power Center showed that 2,282 of the outages were in Maumee, while about 600 were in Monclova Township.
Chris Eck, a spokesman for Toledo-Edison, confirmed that the transformer fail caused the outages. He said the company re-routed power to all customers except five, while they work to replace the transformer this afternoon.
