Honduras: Required investment to reduce losses and improve reliability and service quality of Honduras’ power transmission grid reaches $364 M, according to system operator ODS.

In a presentation, ODS, which took over administration of the grid in June as part of the sector’s overhaul, highlights that $252 M corresponds to new projects without financing and $112 M to previously identified projects with financing.

Planned works include lines and substations and the installation of transformers.

Honduras’ current grid includes 1,015 km of 230 kV lines, 1,025 km of 138 kV lines and 700 km of 69 kV lines.
