Payra-Gopalganj power transmission line begins operation

Bangladesh – A 400 kV Patuakhali power transmission line is operating and the capacity is high due to the 4 ACCC conductors used in each phase.

Bangladesh: A 400 kV Patuakhali (Payra)-Gopalganj power transmission line has started its operation.

The 163 km long double-circuit high voltage transmission line connects the newly built 400 / 230 kV Grid Substation in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj with Patuakhali’s Payra via Patuakhali Sadar, Barguna, Jhalakathi, Barishal and Madaripur.

The line’s transmission capacity is several times higher than other 400 kV lines because of the four ACCC conductors used in each phase of the line, said officials.

Electricity from the 1320 MW power station at Payra – when it is completed – will be trasmitted through this line to feed the National Grid.

The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh implemented the scheme under its Patuakhali-Gopalganj 400 kV Transmission Line and Gopalganj 400 kV Grid Substation Project.
