ComEd and IEEE Host PES T&D Conference 2020

We need clean energy and electrified transportation, but how will the grid integrate them? As stakeholders recognize the need for advanced technologies to allow their communities to benefit from clean power, leveraging these innovations requires additional grid capabilities. In April, the largest gathering of utility professionals and energy researchers in the world will be in Chicago to see the latest advanced industry developments and learn from the brightest minds in the field to continue driving power forward.

The 2020 IEEE PES T&D Conference, hosted by ComEd the fourth largest utility in the country, in Chicago this spring will bring experts together from close to 100 different countries, each with their own perspectives on how technologies can be leveraged fully. Kicking off on April 20th, in McCormick Place, this conference will demonstrate the very latest technological achievements in Transmission and Distribution of the power grid.

The biennial conference will host over 800 exhibitors and 14,000 professionals to showcase new and emerging clean energy advancements and innovations through dozens of technical and professional sessions including panels, CEO sessions, paper forums, technical tours, and tutorials featuring the industry’s best practices, trends as well as emerging and disruptive technologies.

The “Electrifying the Future” conference manifests itself in every aspect of the conference from the venue to the panel topics. The state-of-the art advancements in integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), big data and the internet of things, electric vehicles, microgrids, the utility of the future, and the implementation of new technology will be presented and discussed in this conference. This fusion of discussions, Knowledge Hubs, exhibits and technical tours aim to heighten the conference experience for attendees while fostering an organic flow between theory and action.
