Bulgarian tie-up lands $5.5 M deal for upgrade of Varna traction substation

Bulgaria's National Railway Infrastructure Company awarded $5.5 M contract for the modernization of traction substation Varna to a tie-up between 2 companies

Bulgaria: Bulgaria’s National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) said that it has awarded $5.5 M (4.9 M euro) contract for the modernization of traction substation Varna to a tie-up between two local companies.

The tie-up comprises of Bitumina GmbH – Bulgaria and T&D Engineering, NRIC said in a notice.

According to registry agency data, each of the two companies holds 50 % interest in the tie-up.

Bitumina GmbH – Bulgaria is a wholly-owned unit of Austria’s Bitumina, while T&D Engineering is fully owned by private individual Dora Alexandrova.
