USA, California, Scotts Valley: A power outage was created by a blown transformer in Scotts Valley on 29 March.

The outage has affected police department telephones and radio dispatching system, police said.

PG&E said the outage, reported about 7:55 p.m., is affecting about 1,700 customers.

The cause of the outage was not known as of 8:15 p.m., and a preliminary estimate has the power being back on by 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Scotts Valley police officers are working with neighboring agencies to ensure police protection is not disrupted. Scotts Valley has positioned officers in various areas of the city, and Netcom will be dispatching our officers temporarily. 911 calls will go directly to Netcom for the time being, police said.
