Saudi Arabia sets date for final 600 MW solar project offers
REPDO has invited two of the bidders to submit best and final offers (BAFO) for the 600 MW Fasiliyah photovoltaic (PV) solar project by 19 April.

Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s Renewable Energy Project Development Office (Repdo) has invited two of the bidders to submit best and final offers (BAFO) for the 600 MW Fasiliyah photovoltaic (PV) solar project by 19 April.
Repdo recently opened the commercial prices and shortlisted bidders for five of the six PV solar projects under the second round of the kingdom’s ambitious National Renewable Energy Programme.
However, for the largest planned project under the second round, the 600 MW Fasiliyah scheme, the levelised cost of electricity tariffs from the two lowest bidders were so close that the client decided to invite the two bidding groups to submit BAFO before or on 19 April.
Energy & Utilities earlier reported that the two consortiums that had been invited to participate in the BAFO were: Acwa Power / GIC / Al-Babtain, and Masdar / EDF / Nesma Holding.
The two consortiums invited to submit a BAFO were both shortlisted as first ranked bidder for one of the remaining three Category B projects under the second round.
For the 300 MW Jeddah PV independent power project, the Masdar / EDF / Nesma consortium was ranked first shortlisted bidder.
The Acwa Power consortium was selected as first ranked bidder for the 200 MW Qurrayat IPP.
The successful bidders will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with the offtaker Saudi Procurement Company.
