Washington, MO, USA: WEG, a leading distribution and power transformer company, has completed a first step of a major expansion of its distribution transformer operation.

WEG Transformers USA has purchased a new facility in Washington, MO, which will be dedicated to the manufacturing of three-phase utility pad-mounted distribution transformers. This new facility, located at 0.1 miles from the existing One Pauwels Drive facility, will become a state-of-the-art facility, which will include the latest technology and automation available in the industry for the manufacturing of distribution transformers.

Furthermore, this expansion will allow WEG to expand its current facility, at “One Pauwels Drive”, for Pad-Mounted Transformers, Secondary Unit Substation and Station Transformers through 10,000 KVA 46 kV.

These expansions will enable WEG Transformers USA to improve servicing to the current customer base, which includes Utility customers, Industrial and Renewables customers. In addition, new job opportunities will be created locally to operate the new facility.
