Abengoa to construct substation in Chile

Chile, Bío-Bío, Los Ángeles: Abengoa is awarded the construction of a substation and the sectioning of three 220 kV double-circuit lines in Chile.

The project is part of the expansion plan of the country’s national transmission system.

Abengoa, an international company that applies innovative technological solutions for sustainable development in the infrastructure, energy and water sectors, has been selected by the company Transelec, one of the main suppliers of Chilean electricity transmission, for the construction of a 220 kV electrical substation and three 220 kV line sectioning, whose works are part of the expansion plan of the Chilean national transmission system.

These works, which will take place near the city of Los Ángeles, in Bío-Bío region, Chile, will consist of the design, supply of equipment, materials and services, construction, assembly, testing and commissioning of the Los Notros New Sectioning Substation, with a voltage of 220 kV, and three sections of 220 kV double-circuit lines that connect Ralco-Charrúa, Angostura-Mulchén and Pangue-Charrúa.

This award reinforces Abengoa’s presence in the energy distribution sector, in which it has more than 30 years of experience and in which it has already exceeded 27,000 km of lines and 330 substations around the world.
