ABOUT THE SESSION

NovAcec Services, a company based in Belgium with departments in Charleroi and Kontich, has opened a brand new lab. As such, more than 30 years of know-how and experiences concerning insulation materials and testing has been preserved from former Pauwels and CG Belgium’s labs. This experience includes the know-how on oil- and DGA-measurements. Since DGA  today still is the strongest method to analyze and evaluate the health of a transformer, the new lab is fully equipped to provide state-of-the-art measurements and evaluations.

In the live e-lesson, Patrick Van de Vondel, a specialist from NovAcec Services will show why DGA should be performed regularly on a transformer, how it works in brief and what the pitfalls are.

Finally the power of DGA will be demonstrated by several typical and practical examples and experiences. In these examples, the links between DGA-results and actual faults in transformers will be shown including how one will come to the correct conclusions.
