Bangladesh, Mirsharai: Two new transmission lines using ACCC® conductors were recently commissioned in Bangladesh and Nepal.

With the support of Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) completed its 400 kV BSRM transmission project in Mirsharai, Bangladesh. This new 16.5 km double-circuit transmission line was built to supply power to one of South Asia’s largest economic zones which is under construction.

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpanagar Economic Zone is being developed by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority.

Currently energized at 230 kV, this line will eventually be raised to 400 kV and connect to the Koreghat Substation which is currently under construction. PGCB selected Dhaka size ACCC® Conductor which spanned approximately 383 m between steel lattice structures.

Approximately 70 % of the line crossed through paddy-cultivated areas and the balance was through coastal area swamps, making access extremely difficult.

Apar Industries Ltd supplied the ACCC® Conductor and Dervaux provided ACCC® hardware.

ACCC® Conductor is an internationally patented and trademark registered product of CTC Global Corporation.

Using Silvassa-size ACCC® Conductor manufactured by Apar Industries Ltd, Nepal Electric Authority completed its 33 kV double circuit Duhabi – Khanar ACCC® reconductor project in Biratnagar, Nepal.
