Ecuador state power corporation Celec’s transmission unit Transelectric has signed power transmission contracts.

The scope of contracts is the supply of goods and services in an international public tender as part of an energy matrix change program financed by IDB.

The call was launched in November and targets the 230/138/69 kV Posorja, Orquídeas, Tanicuchi, La Avanzada and Cajas systems.

Four lots were offered: 1) transformers, autotransformers, and primary AIS and GIS equipment; 2) control panels and other monitoring equipment; 3) conductors, insulators, hardware, and fibre optic cable; and 4) galvanized steel metallic structures.

In lot order, the deals were inked with Consorcios Wotal ($25.7 M), Consorcios Longfor ($12.3 M), Henan Dingli Power Equipment ($5.38 M) and Henan Dingli Power Equipment ($6.48 M).

A similar bidding process launched in December under the same IDB-financed program for other 230/138/69 kV systems.

In a separate tender, Transelectric awarded Consorcio Chongón (Inextec-Áltitum) a contract to carry out technical studies for the 230 kV Lago de Chongón-Posorja line.

Meanwhile, Transelectric declared void a call to draft the EIS for the 230 kV Los Encuentros-Cumbaratza and 138 kV Cumbaratza-Delsitanisagua projects. Other planned works in the Celec unit’s development pipeline include the 230 kV Chorrillos-Lago de Chongón and Tisaleo-Totoras lines, and the 230/138 kV San Idelfonso 1 substation.
