Končar Power Transformers delivers a tailor-made transformer to Germany

Končar Power Transformers (KPT) has announced on its social networks the delivery of a new step-up transformer.

Croatia, Zagreb: Končar Power Transformers (KPT) has announced on its social networks the delivery of a new step-up transformer.

This time, KPT has produced two new step-up transformers intended for an offshore wind application. The destination of the transformers is a wind farm located off the coast of Germany.

The wind farm built by Iberdrola group is Iberdrola’s second major offshore wind project in the Baltic named Baltic Eagle. Located 30 km to the northeast of Rügen island off the coast of Pomerania in Germany, this new 476 MW installation will supply renewable energy to 460,000 households.

Once in service, the wind farm will provide renewable energy and prevent the emission of 800.000 T of CO2 on annual basis.

Both KPT’s transformers are rated at 300 MVA each and will be delivered to the shipyard during this summer.

Končar-Power Transformers Ltd., Zagreb, is joint venture of Siemens Energy and Končar-Electrical Industry PLC.

KPT produce large power transformers in accordance with the customer agreed specifications and national and international standards.

Special attention is given to the selection and training of employees and management processes, to produce high-quality products that meet the demands and expectations of customers and other interested parties.
