Consumers Energy crews move transformer to new location

Walker, Michigan, USA: Consumers Energy moved a big transformer in Ottawa County yesterday.
About 30 m long, the transformer is also about 6 m tall and weighs almost 300 tons.
Crews along the route had to raise power lines so the truck could make it through safely. They had a police escort the entire time.
Consumers Energy is a public utility that provides natural gas and electricity to 6.7 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents.
