France, Montoir-de-Bretagne: The jacket foundation and the topside of the substation are to move from the port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire to the installation site.

The foundation and topside for the offshore substation for the 480 MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm have been loaded on to barges ahead of installation off the coast of France.

The jacket foundation will depart the Nantes Saint-Nazaire port on 14 August at about 9 p.m. local time, according to the port.

The topside will follow on the evening of 17 or 18 August, the port added.

DEME Offshore installed pin piles for the foundation in April.

A consortium of Atlantique Offshore Energy, GE Grid Solutions and SDI/DEME Group was awarded the EPCI contract for the Saint-Nazaire offshore substation in 2019.

Saint-Nazaire, also known as Parc du Banc de Guérande, will comprise 80 GE Haliade 150-6 MW turbines and the offshore substation installed between 12 and 20 km off the coast of the Guérande peninsula.

The wind farm, which is being developed by an EDF-led consortium, is expected online next year.
