Končar – Power Transformers Ltd., a joint venture of Siemens Energy and “Končar-Electrical Industry” PLC has published on 16 August to have delivered 5 autotransformers to Iberdrola.
The company has delivered 5 out of 9 225 MVA 245 kV autotransformers of the same series to its customer Iberdrola Distribución (i-DE) from Spain. These units are part of the Iberdrola Investment plan, for which only a handful of suppliers are selected to replace existing units across the country network, improving service to its customers as well enabling energy transition. It is the largest investment programme in the history of a Spanish company, aimed at boosting the industrial fabric and jobs in the countries where the company operates.
KPT has already delivered two step-up transformers for Iberdrola, intended for an offshore wind application. The destination of the transformers was the Baltic Eagle wind farm built by Iberdrola, located off the coast of Germany.
