South Africa: The unit was scheduled to ship in May of this year and estimated to arrive within 60 days.

After a long journey from WEG Transmission & Distribution in Blumenau (SC) to its final destination in the heart of South Africa, the first autotransformer with 500 MVA of power at 400 kV, featured strategic intermodal transport logistics. Driven by the port of Itajaí, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, port of Richards Bay (South Africa) and transported by land, the customer was delivered the largest transformer ever produced by WEG, while the second transformer, is coming to join the twin brother.

The nearly 350 T giant was completely assembled and commissioned, through an intense work of 48 days and almost 400 hours, processing approximately 115,000 l of oil and four days of electrical testing.
