Venezuela, Santa Cruz: A 100 MVA transformer was transported on the night of 16 September to the facilities of the Aragua electrical substation, in Santa Cruz.

The new transformer will replace the one affected by the explosion that occurred on Sunday, 12 September, which left several municipalities without service.

The transportation of the transformer was carried out in the midst of a strong security operation by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to avoid setbacks. Workers of the state electricity company began the installation, so they hope to fully restore electricity service in the following couple of hours.

There are still sectors of Cagua, Santa Cruz, Palo Negro and Santa Rita that already reach 90 hours without electricity, with losses for the commercial sector and the family economy.

The process of turning on the pumps in water treatment plants that were turned off due to permanent downturns or the total absence of electricity, has begun. The process is carried out gradually in areas where the power has already been restored.
