Končar spins off a new company – Končar – Digital

The General Assembly of KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering Ltd. has approved the status change involving demerger of the company KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering Ltd. for production and services and the establishment of a new company, KONČAR – Digital Ltd. for digital services and solutions.
Development and application of digital technologies, primarily in power engineering, is an area of strategic interest for KONČAR Group. Končar’s priorities are closely based on the EU’s priorities, i.e., the European Green Plan. The main activity of the Končar Group is within the scope electric power solutions and includes the production of equipment and plants for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity, as well as rail vehicles and supporting infrastructure.
The newly-established company KONČAR – Digital Ltd. will be based on the know-how that has been developed over the recent years and it will act as a backbone of further development of digital technologies.
The convergence of digital technology and the energy system will transform centuries-old business models, increase data demand, rely on in-depth analysis, and boost automated monitoring and control systems. Končar’s digital solutions portfolio represents an organic growth of the company’s traditional competencies and areas, with a step towards areas where there are currently opportunities to upgrade digital capabilities and portfolios.
For this reason, there was a justified need to establish a new company Končar – Digital, which will enable further digital competitiveness, adapting to the market, accelerated development as well as efficient and flexible business management in the field of industrial software development, expanding digital portfolio of services and products for the existing and new markets.
