Indian transformer manufacturer to set up 4 GW solar module plant

India: Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) has won a tender for setting up manufacturing capacities for high-efficiency solar PV modules.

India: Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) has won a tender for setting up manufacturing capacities for high-efficiency solar PV modules.

The new project, awarded the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) in a Letter of Award, will be operated under the Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI), floated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The company had participated in the bid invited by IREDA for setting up manufacturing facilities for high efficiency solar PV modules and won it for a capacity of 4000 MW, said the company statement.

CEO of SSEL, Sharat Chandra, said that this Letter of Award will catalyse their journey in the future, and added that they are committed to creating a clean environment for future generations.

“Through these manufacturing initiatives, we assure that our journey in the future will be committed to create a clean environment for our future generations,” he added.

SSE is one of the leading and largest distribution transformer manufacturers and EPC contractor in India. The company has also installed more than 80,000 km of LT and HT transmission lines and has worked on many complex turnkey projects in both domestic and international markets.
