Hungary, Budapest: Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. has successfully participated in another significant international tender.

The company has manufactured two 50 MVA and one 25 MVA transformers for Spain-based Acciona Energía with a total worth of over €2 M, according to a press release.

Ganz won the public tender this May. The three transformers are expected to be delivered in March 2022 following successful Factory Acceptance Tests in November 2021.

The transformers have an operation voltage of 220/30 kV and are all mineral oil-cooled.

Acciona Energía is one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies, with more than 11 GW renewables installed in 16 countries. The company plans to build a photovoltaic power plant near Almendralejo in the province of Badajoz (Spain), for which the company announced the tender for the production of the three transformers.

In addition to the Spanish Acciona Energía and the Danish Fjernvarme Fyn, the Hungarian heavy machinery manufacturer has been continuously manufacturing and successfully exporting custom equipment for customers in Romania, Belgium, Sweden, France, Germany, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia.

“The project is an outstanding part of the strategic goal, along which we want to boost the export activities of the company and to strengthen the international recognition of the Ganz brand,” said Jan Prins, managing director of Ganz Transformer and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd.

“The current collaboration is also special in the sense that we can deliver our unique and prime products to a giant company that is known worldwide for its sustainability approach. All of this is extremely important for us: through our machinery, we want to take an active part in the spread of renewable energy, thus contributing to the green turn of the energy economy,” he concluded.
