Montenegro, Podgorica: Montenegro’s power grid operator Crnogorski elektrodistributivni sistem (CEDIS) completed a $1.65 M (€1.45 M) substation overhaul.

It is part of a project for the upgrade of the medium-voltage and low-voltage grid in Niksic municipality, CEDIS said in the statement last week.

The overhaul included the installation of high-quality, air-insulated 10 kV equipment at the Klicevo substation, improving the stability and quality of electricity supply for about 8,000 customers in rural areas of Niksic municipality.

The implementation of the project enabled the full use of 110/10 kV transformers which have a rated power of 31.5 MVA, CEDIS noted.

The company plans to start the construction of a total of four 35/10 kV substations in the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Pljevlja, it said.

In 2021, CEDIS invested $11.3 M (€10 M) in the overhaul of power transmission system in rural areas.
