Efacec signs contracts worth over $33 M with Red Eléctrica de España

The contracts worth over $33 M (€30 M) include the supply of over 20 power transformers for substations of the 400 kV transmission network in Peninsular Spain and the 245 kV network in the Canary Islands.
Efacec explained in a statement that “this supply will be carried out until 2024 under contracts established last semester, worth over $33 M (€30 M)”. These projects reinforce the Portuguese company’s presence in the Spanish market, where it has been present for almost 30 years, with over 25,000 MVA of transformers in operation in various utilities.
According to the same statement, these new projects “renew REE’s confidence in Efacec’s technical skills, particularly in transformer technology, where the Portuguese company is one of the world leaders.”
“These contracts consolidate and strengthen our close collaboration with the Spanish market and, in particular, with the Spanish transmission and system operator. It is with great satisfaction that we are developing this project that attests Red Eléctrica de España’s trust in Efacec and in the excellence of our technical solutions,” said Michael Silva, Chief Commercial Officer of Efacec.
