New power line to link Oman and UAE

Oman: Work is under way to establish a 33 kV power line to link Khasab Power Plant with Al Ghalilah Power Plant in the UAE.

Oman: Work is under way to establish a 33 kV power line to link Khasab Power Plant with Al Ghalilah Power Plant in the UAE.

Another project is also being implemented to establish a 33 kV power line to link the power station in the Wilayat of Diba with Diba Station in Fujairah in the UAE.

Sheikh Suhail bin Mustahail Shamas, Oman’s Minister of Housing, Electricity and Water, added that the private sector is investing in power with international investors currently working with local partners in the development of three big stations.

This is in addition to constructing some power generation stations, transformer stations and other projects to strengthen and extend power to various areas in Muscat Governorate.

The minister noted that a dual circuit power line system (132 kV) is being implemented in Batinah region, besides similar transmission and substation projects stations in Muscat Governorate, Rustaq, Suwaiq, Al Musanah and other parts of the sultanate.
