India, Bihar: The power infrastructure and renewable energy business unit of Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd has commissioned the 400/220/132/33 kV GIS substation.

The substation is located at Naubatpur and Jakkanpur in Patna district of Bihar.

The substation will connect the adjacent towns of Naubatpur and Jakkanpur on a state-level grid through 400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV and 33kV transmission lines, thereby contributing to the district of Patna by the easy access to reliable quality power with a transformation capacity of 1000 MVA. This is the first ever 400 kV GIS substation in the state of Bihar.

The substation will cater to power evacuation requirements of NTPC Nabinagar power station and enhance the transformation by driving growth in the Industrial landscape in and around Naubatpur and Jakkanpur. This substation will ensure the availability of reliable power to the emerging industrial and residential sectors in the area. It will potentially increase the industrial growth opportunities by transmitting electricity to the emerging Industrial establishments.
