Hitachi Energy announces changes to its Board of Directors

Switzerland, Zurich: Hitachi Energy has announced the appointment of Yoshihiko Kawamura as the Chair of the Board of Hitachi Energy Ltd.

Switzerland, Zurich: Hitachi Energy has announced the appointment of Yoshihiko Kawamura as the Chair of the Board of Hitachi Energy Ltd.

Yoshihiko Kawamura, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer, Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hitachi, Ltd., succeeds Alistair Dormer, Chair of the Board of Hitachi Europe Ltd., who has been supporting in strengthening the foundation for Hitachi Energy, driving sustainability activities and synergies for growth across sectors. Alistair will continue to support Hitachi Energy within Hitachi, Ltd. based in Europe and as Chair of the Board of Hitachi Europe Ltd., and also as Executive Advisor for the Green, Energy and Mobility Sector of Hitachi, Ltd.

Kawamura brings insights from working with Strategy and Investments, IoT, Information and Telecommunication Systems, and IT. He has extensive experience in global roles from working in Mitsubishi and Hitachi corporations and he will be key to support our recently announced “Hitachi Energy 2030 Plan” – the next stage of Hitachi Energy’s purpose-driven profitable and sustainable growth and development.

With this appointment, Hitachi Energy’s Board will continue consisting of a total of seven members, including Vice Chair, Frank Duggan; Timo J. Ihamuotila, Director; Ryuichi Otsuki, Director; Seiichiro Nukui, Director; Manuel Valverde, Director, and Duncan Hawthorne, Director.
