Mexico, Veracruz: WEG is to develop for Nestlé an EPC project in the “switchgear” and “step-down” substations.

In addition, the company will make adaptations in two other substations of the local Comission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) utility company.

Nescafé is planning to build a new processing plant in the community of Santa Rita, the municipality of Veracruz. Taking into account its dimensions, the plant was designed to produce more than 40,000 T of coffee per year. To that end, WEG Transformers México was designated to conduct the EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) project, and it will supply a high voltage (115 kV) interconnection – comprising a 750 m transmission line, a CFE switchgear substation, and Nestle substation also in high voltage—to power their manufacturing processes safely and reliably. In addition to these solutions, adaptation works will be conducted in two other CFE substations (local energy utility company), called Veracruz II and Santa Fé.

Nestlé has selected WEG Transformers Mexico for its vast experience and its employees’ technical knowledge, in addition to the infrastructure of the local facilities. That confirms WEG’s relevant role in the electricity sector, through a history of reliability and quality in the services provided to the market around the world, reinforcing its increasingly solid position in the Mexican market.
