Ziehl-Abegg SE announces new CEO

Germany: The Ziehl-Abegg SE Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Marc Wucherer as the new CEO. The 52 years old will take up his new position in December 2022.

Germany: The Ziehl-Abegg SE Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Marc Wucherer as the new CEO. The 52 years old will take up his new position in December 2022.

The Doctor of Engineering with a degree in business administration started his career at Siemens AG. During a series of management roles, he was responsible for various business units both in Germany and abroad, and was President of the industry segment in North-East Asia.

Dr. Marc Wucherer has been on the board of directors at Bosch Rexroth AG since 2017, with global responsibility for sales and marketing and, later on, for the factory automation segment as well. Dr. Wucherer is a first-class manager with enormous experience in multiple business areas. In addition to his great expertise and reliability, his international experience is a perfect fit for actively shaping Ziehl-Abegg’s continued global growth.

Ziehl-Abegg (Künzelsau, Germany) is one of the leading global companies in the field of ventilation, control and drive technology. Another area of business is electric motors which provide the power, for example, for elevators, medical applications (computer tomography equipment) or deep-sea underwater vehicles. The theme of electro-mobility for motor vehicles was established as part of the Ziehl-Abegg Automotive Team in 2012.

The company employs 2,600 personnel in its production plants in southern Germany. It has a global workforce of 4,700 spread between 16 production plants, 29 companies and 112 sales locations. The products, approx. 30,000 in all, are sold in more than 100 countries. Turnover totals €716 M, with exports accounting for three quarters of the figure, (all numbers refer to the year 2021).
