Ukraine, Kyiv: Ukrainian energy company DTEK has announced that it has delivered 52 transformers to Ukraine, in cooperation with Hitachi Energy.

The transformers were delivered in a joint effort of DTEK, Hitachi Energy Ukraine and Hitachi Energy Poland to replace damaged equipment and restore the country’s electricity supply.

According to the energy company, “this is unprecedented help and support from international partner Hitachi Energy” as the company has set up its own transformer production “with Ukraine order to become the highest priority”. It was reported that the required equipment was produced and delivered three times faster than the previously announced deadlines.

Earlier, former Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov said that Ukraine is experiencing a major shortage of equipment to support its energy system, there are no powerful transformers left in reserve and the production of new units could take up to six months. In turn, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, chairman of the board of directors of the national energy company Ukrenergo, previously reported that Ukraine is looking for equipment to repair and restore damaged power system facilities around the world, due to which previously prepared equipment is used due to new missile strikes.
