Pakistan, Gwadar: The transmission line for importing 100 MW additional power supply from Iran to Gwadar in Pakistan has been completed.

The 29-km-long power transmission line has already passed all testing. The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) has completed the project within the deadline, according to the prime minister and the energy minister.

According to sources, Iran is expected to launch the additional 100 MW of power supply to Gwadar in the next couple of days. With the availability of additional power supply, both the city and its industrial area will get reliable power supply round the clock.

The additional electricity from Iran is expected to meet the needs for the power supply of the entire Makran division.

The governments of Pakistan and Iran signed an agreement for this project in June 2022.
