India, Mumbai: Adani Electricity has commissioned its 100th power distribution substation that will help cater to power demand in the Mumbai suburbs.

The new substation will increase the existing installed capacity of 4,387 MVA by an additional 40 MVA. Adani Electricity supplies power to 3.1 million consumers in the suburbs and covers an area of 400 km2.

“Given the rapid development of retail centres, malls, and residences in the Dahisar and Mira Road East area, Adani Electricity has made their network ready to meet the large-scale upcoming power demand in the area,” said a company official.

One of India’s largest electrical distribution companies, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML), is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Transmission Ltd. and is responsible for offering integrated facilities for the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Mumbai.
