Nigeria, Abuja: Nigeria is to develop new power transmission lines across the country, with its government approving a contract to activate a 132.32 kVA substation.

Nigeria, Abuja: Nigeria is to develop new power transmission lines across the country, with its government approving a contract to activate a 132.32 kVA substation.
The contract will cover five projects for Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) costing $53 M for offshore and approximately $40 M for onshore developments.
Another approved project was the construction of a 15 km turnout line of the existing Akure-Ado-Ekiti single-circuit transmission line.
“The 330 kV substation in Akure, which has been completed over two years ago and could not have been energised for the lack of a transmission line, which was supposed to come from Benin and which is a new line under construction,” said the country’s Minister of Power Abubakar Aliyu.
The projects were scheduled to be completed in 12 months, he said.
