Canada, Toronto: The federal government of Canada will donate seven power transformers to help restore Ukraine’s electrical grid.

The transformers will be delivered through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism, which serves as a joint response group that helps to coordinate disaster response in the region.

“Ukrainians are not alone in the fight for their homeland. Canada will always support democracy, sovereignty and human rights. Canada will always support Ukraine,” said Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly in a statement.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also announced that Canada will contribute $3 M to support mining action in Ukraine. The money is in addition to the $32 M funding that Canada is already providing to support the mining in Ukraine.
