Iran, Tehran: Iran’s Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian has announced that the power transmission grids of Iran and Pakistan have been connected.

The work that included the design and construction was completed in less than a year, with a swap capacity of 200 MW. The announcement was given simultaneously with the visit of the Pakistani energy minister to Iran.

“In today’s meeting with the Minister of Energy of Pakistan, there were good discussions about how to swap electricity through this line, and we hope to reach an agreement in this regard,” said Minister Mehrabian.

According to the news agency of Iran, the Pakistani energy ministry has announced that during the official visit of the Pakistani energy minister Khuram Dastgir Khan to Tehran and a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, they agreed to expand bilateral electricity ties.
