South Africa, Johannesburg: Africa Data Centres (ADC) has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Distributed Power Africa (DPA) for the solar energy supply.

Thus, facilities of Africa Data Centres in South Africa will be supplied with 12 MW of renewable solar energy.

The two companies are also supporting several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The solar energy will be delivered to the ADC’s facilities partly from the solar farm DPA is currently developing near Bloemfontein to deliver the first 12 MW to the data centres.

“Our customers are looking for cost-effective and efficient ways of meeting their green targets and reducing energy costs for their businesses in a climate of increased power shortages. We are excited to embark on this milestone project with Africa Data Centres,” commented CEO of DPA Norman Moyo on the partnership.
