USA, Oregon: The Oregon Supreme Court has granted Idaho Power permission to construct a 466 km, 500 kV transmission line.

The high-voltage transmission line will be built between Boardman, Oregon, Hemingway substation and Owyhee County.

The utilities, as well as state and federal regulators, are still reviewing project amendments, and a mitigation plan must be approved. Oregon’s Public Utility Commission must also rule on Idaho Power’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity, which might wind up in court.

Idaho Power intends to start building on the new line later this year, with an expected completion date in 2026.
