India, Gujarat: Larsen & Toubro has won multiple orders in the domestic and overseas markets, with an estimated aggregate value exceeding $304 M (Rs.2,500 crore).

The PTD Business has secured turnkey packages to establish over 365 km of 765 kV double circuit transmission lines in Gujarat and Rajasthan. These lines are part of India’s overall interstate transmission system (ISTS) network meant to evacuate electricity from renewable energy zones in the two states.

Another order is for the implementation of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) in the Greater Mumbai area. The PTD Business of L&T also received an order to develop distribution infrastructure in an unnamed district of Chhattisgarh.

The overseas orders by L&T’s PTD business included an order to construct: a 380 kV substation with associated transmission interconnections in Saudi Arabia; 275 kV and 132 kV transmission lines in Malaysia; and a 500 kV transmission line in Thailand.

“The logical next step after 100 per cent electrification is to modernize our distribution systems with smart & intelligent elements. We are happy to contribute to this front by combining our physical infrastructure creation and digital energy solution capabilities,” said T. Madhava Das, Executive Vice President (Utilities) of L&T.
