Fire breaks out in factory in Vaasa, Finland

Finland, Vaasa: The source has confirmed a fire broke out on 29 March at Hitachi Energy’s premises in the factory area in Vaasa, Finland.

Finland, Vaasa: The source has confirmed a fire broke out on 29 March at Hitachi Energy’s premises in the factory area in Vaasa, Finland.

The rescue services responded to the reported fire at the Strömberg Park factory site around 1 p.m., preventing the fire from spreading in a couple of hours. It was reported that after everyone was safely evacuated, rescuers were no longer allowed inside. The cause of the fire is yet unknown.

Jani Kujala, the chief steward of Hitachi Energy, said in the early afternoon that all the people in the building had been safely removed from the area, and there were no injuries in the fire. Kujala himself was not there when the fire broke out.

Communications Director Jaana Nikkari said that a total of around 200 people work at the factory. According to him, Hitachi Energy has started mapping the extent of the damage caused by the fire.

The emergency department’s press release previously stated that the fire was in the FF building of the ABB factory area. The building in question is used by Hitachi Energy’s transformer factory.
