Hitachi Energy announces changes to its Board of Directors
Switzerland, Zurich: Hitachi Energy today announced the appointment of Alistair Dormer as the Chair of the Board of Hitachi Energy.

Switzerland, Zurich: Hitachi Energy today announced the appointment of Alistair Dormer as the Chair of the Board of Hitachi Energy.
Alistair Dormer is the current Executive Vice President, Executive General Manager of Green Energy & Mobility Sector Strategy Planning Division, Hitachi, Ltd., and Chairman of the Board of Hitachi Europe Ltd. As the new Chair, of the Board of Directors, he is replacing Yoshihiko Kawamura, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hitachi, Ltd. Kawamura will continue his role within Hitachi, Ltd.
Hitachi Energy has also announced the appointment of new Directors to the Hitachi Energy Board: Shashank Samant, Chairman of the GlobalLogic Board; Akihide Hirao, CFO of Green Energy & Mobility Sector Strategy Planning Division of Hitachi, Ltd. and Stephen Pierce, HR of Green Energy & Mobility Sector; Deputy Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer of Hitachi Europe Ltd, who will contribute with deep knowledge and expertise. The new Directors of the Board replace Duncan Hawthorne, Director; Ryuichi Otsuki, Director; and Timo J. Ihamuotila, Director; who all contributed with extensive industry experience and great engagement in supporting the sustainable growth of the Hitachi Energy business.
The Green Energy market is exceptionally strong, driven by commitments of countries around the world to decarbonize their energy supply.” He continued, “I am very pleased to once again be able to directly support Hitachi Energy, a global technology and market leader driving partnerships and synergies across Hitachi,” commented Dormer, who had been a Chair of the Hitachi Energy Board previously.
With these appointments, Hitachi Energy’s Board will continue consisting of a total of seven members, including Akihide Hirao, Director; Frank Duggan, Director; Manuel Valverde, Director, Seiichiro Nukui, Director; Shashank Samant, Director; and Stephen Pierce, Director.
