UK, East Hampshire: Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is to invest $13.2 M (£10.6 M) for an upgrade of its power supply network.

The project includes Alton and Bordon in East Hampshire, UK. The works will commence early in May and the completion is expected in September 2024.

The upgrades include the construction of a new substation in Bordon along with the refurbishment of substation connections. The company will also upgrade 18 km of underground power cables and the associated infrastructure.

“My team and I are delighted to now be progressing with this £10.6-million project after completing the first phase of preparatory works late last year. As a considerate constructor, we have been working closely with stakeholders and local partners to ensure that we can carry out and complete this upgrade with the least inconvenience to customers living and working nearby,” said Anthony Horne, SSEN’s project manager for this multi-million project.
